Work with me
Understand the situation
before deciding the move.
Working together makes sense where the legal layer cannot be separated from negotiation and personal stakes. The aim is to find out what is actually being decided, who holds leverage, and what ought to come next.
First move
Decided, but unsure how to start?
For a client who already knows they want to engage but is not sure where to write the first sentence — a short self-diagnostic. Three questions. Sixty seconds.
- Do you sense your lawyer has not told you everything you need to know? That something beyond statute decides the outcome — the other side, time, reputation, willingness to bear risk.
- Are you looking for someone who will help you decide, not only represent you? The difference between a strategic conversation about the situation and a procedural action inside it.
- Are you willing to invest 60–90 minutes and from CZK 5,000 + VAT (≈ EUR 200) in a first conversation? The first consultation is large enough to reach a frame for the situation and a sequence of next steps.
Three yes — write me three paragraphs about the situation. I usually respond within 48 hours on working days.
No capacity for three paragraphs? One sentence is enough — what is being decided and by when. We complete the rest in the conversation.
Even one no? Look first at where I am not the right fit — you may need a different kind of help, and noticing it sooner saves us both a conversation that does not belong with me.
When to reach out
Reach out if you need to read the situation before requesting an opinion — and to understand what happens once it is given.
- A legal dispute that is not only about a claim but about the other side, time, reputation and negotiating pressure.
- A negotiation or conversation where one wrong sentence can close down good options.
- A partnership, team or community where the same conflict keeps returning in new forms.
- A personal decision where law explains only part of the problem and the rest sits in responsibility, loyalty or fear of consequences.
- A group that needs to see how it behaves under pressure.
What we typically distinguish
- What the actual frame of the situation is — formally and beneath that.
- Who holds leverage in the situation, and who only thinks they do.
- Where the legal question ends and where strategy begins.
- What the other side actually wants — and what they only pretend to want.
- What happens if you do nothing — and whom that suits.
- Which move makes sense to make first.
- Where the line between pressure, settlement, concession and walking away actually sits.
How the engagement works
We begin with a conversation. You describe the situation; I ask questions, separate the layers, and look for the place where the outcome is actually decided. From that comes a strategy: legal, negotiating, personal or communicative. Often a combination of all.
The work can take the shape of one conversation, a short series of consultations, a long-term engagement on a dispute, or methodical individual work on decision-making. The format follows the situation.
Mechanics
What the first conversation looks like
You describe the situation. I let you speak, but I interrupt where the frame shifts. I ask about the other side, time, money, risk, the communication so far, and what must not happen. During the conversation we separate the legal problem from the personal decision, the negotiating position and the relational dynamic.
By the end of the first conversation we know what the actual problem is, what kind of game is being played, and which next move is worth preparing.
After the first conversation you know whether continuing makes sense, what format would work — or why you might rather take another route.
First-conversation frame
- Length: usually 60–90 minutes.
- Format: online, or in person in Brno.
- Output: a spoken naming of the situation's frame, a sequence of next steps, and variants of the move. Written output comes in a second step if useful.
- Capacity: limited; new strategic cases are taken on as capacity allows.
- Boundary: the difference between strategic counsel and legal representation is established at the start — depending on whether the situation belongs inside the attorney's frame or in strategy outside it.
The output
The output may be a legal strategy, preparation for a meeting, a decision map, a piece of text addressed to the other side, a frame for a team — or simply an accurate naming of something you had felt but could not yet hold.
The hourly rate for strategic counsel is CZK 5,000 + VAT (≈ EUR 200). In legal matters the engagement moves into the frame of the IUSTORIA law firm, on the firm's terms.
Individual work with a client
When the same pattern keeps returning
Some clients arrive with a recurring pattern rather than one dispute. Across different situations they keep accepting someone else's frame, postponing decisions, overestimating loyalty, misreading authority, or entering conflict too late.
For these cases there is individual strategic work — a structured conversation about how the client decides, reads people and accepts frames others place on them. The boundary against therapy and coaching is established at the start.
The work proceeds through structured conversation and small experiments between sessions. Format, capacity, boundaries and expected course are agreed individually before the engagement begins.
Typical client
Someone in mid-career, in a partnership or in a public role, who keeps entering situations whose course they did not predict — and who is starting to suspect there is a pattern in how they decide. They are looking for a place where the pattern can be examined from a safe distance, and a calibration that moves them.
Session frame and rate
- Length: 90–120 minutes for the first session; 60–90 for subsequent ones.
- Format: in person in Brno, or online (Zoom / Meet).
- Cycle: usually four to six sessions at intervals of 2–4 weeks; sometimes one is enough.
- Rate: CZK 5,000 + VAT (≈ EUR 200) per hour, the same as strategic counsel. The cycle is agreed in outline at the start.
- Confidentiality: the content of sessions is private; sessions produce no output anyone else would see.
Boundary
For trauma, prolonged anxiety or depression, addiction and acute crises I refer to a cooperating psychologist or psychotherapist — a session cannot hold that material.
Where I am not the right fit
For routine actions, simple contracts, quick confirmations of a view already held, and work where the client does not actually want to see the uncomfortable part of the situation, it is faster to go elsewhere.
- Standard legal representation without the strategic layer → IUSTORIA
- Public event or simulation programme for a team → VELAR Dynamics
Next step
Briefly describe the situation, the other side, and the context in which it is being decided. Three paragraphs are enough. I usually respond within 48 hours on working days.
